About Matchless Kennels

Matchless Kennels is a German Wirehair Pointer Breeder located in southern Minnesota.  The kennel is managed by Gary Robertson and Liz Miller and equipped with heated kennels, homing pigeons, and game bird flight pens. We are also a licensed game bird hatchery. We go to these lengths because birds are the foundation in training a premium gun dog. We have access to ample training properties with field, stream, woods, and water.  The ability to expose our dogs to various environments permits us to produce a bold and secure versatile hunting dog.

We breed conservatively and conscientiously , with quality bloodlines and proven stock. Our breeders are hunt tested to a minimum Utility test level in the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association, and also to the Advanced Hunting Dog Aptitude test level in the Versatle Hunting Dog Federation. These tests provide us the basis for evaluation and decisions in or breeding program. We strive to produce well socialized, charismatic, athletic, and versatile gun dogs with the stamina for a full day of hunting,  and hunt test. Above all, we focus on temperament, the foundation for a worthy pet. Our dogs are AKC and NAVHDA registered and tested for hips, VWD, and thyroid.  We are members of the German Wirehaired Alliance  and adhere to the Alliance standards in our breeding program. Compare our standards to other breeders and see how they stack up!

We produce less than one litter per year, provide a health guarantee, and back what we breed. Our young pups are exposed to birds, gunfire, and varying terrains prior to eight weeks of age. We feel that exposing young pups to these situations early in life  is the key to producing bold, birdie, and confident pups. Regardless if you are new to the pointing dog, or experienced, our goal is to accelerate your passion for the versatile hunting dog and expand your love for this breed.
